THE WALTZ KING

A TRIBUTE TO THE WALTZ KING

The year 2025 is dedicated to the “Waltz King” Johann Strauss II, one of the most significant composers of the Viennese Classical period, whose music continues to captivate hearts around the world. With our immersive museum, we kick off the Johann Strauss Festival Year 2025, aiming to bring his timeless art to life for new generations. Together with guests from across the globe, we are going to celebrate the 200th birthday of this extraordinary musical genius, honoring both his life and his work.

WHY DO WE CELEBRATE JOHANN STRAUSS II?

Johann Strauss II (1825-1899) was not only the most renowned composer of the Wiener Walzer, but also a true ambassador of Vienna and Austria in the world of music. His lively melodies, such as the “Blue Danube Waltz” and the “Emperor Waltz“, are deeply connected to the culture and identity of Vienna. Strauss’ music embodies the spirit of the city: ease, elegance and the joy of life.

A LEGACY THAT CONNECTS

He succeeded in building bridges across generations and continents. Already in the past, his charisma enchanted the audiences. “Johann Strauss only speaks German, but he smiles in all languages.” Even today, the rhythm of his waltzes invites people to dance, dream, and celebrate – regardless of background or language.

By honoring Johann Strauss II in 2025, we not only celebrate his musical legacy, but also the magic of his songs, which are still performed and loved worldwide.
